Enterprise5 - Standard User and Base Preparation

  • All steps should be completed in the specific order as outlined in the following instructions
   
 
  • Failure to follow all steps will result in the user being unable to access Enterprise5 correctly
   
 
  • Please Contact the Nuance Enterprise5 Support Team at 877-932-6339 for questions regarding the preparation or installation process
 
Quick Steps:
 
1. Prepare Internet Explorer per the Enterprise5 - Preparing Internet Explorer Guide
   
2. Download and install Sun Java: Download Sun Java version
   
3. Download and Install Adobe Acrobat Reader: Download Adobe Acrobat Reader
   
4. Download, "Run", and Install the required Enterprise5 Plug-ins for Internet Explorer:
 
a. Previous versions of the Enterprise5 Plug-Ins should first be uninstalled.
   - How to Uninstall Previous Versions of the Enterprise5 Plug-ins
b. "Run" the Enterprise5 version 5.0 Installer for Sun Java
c. Once the installation completes a new desktop shortcut is created to access the Enterprise5 website
   
5. Perform Post Install steps (as noted below)
 
 
 
Detailed Steps:
   
1. Prepare Internet Explorer per the Enterprise5 - Preparing Internet Explorer Guide
 
a. Ensure all Internet Explorer windows are closed when performing the configuration
b. Without the necessary IE configuration the user will be unable to correctly access Enterprise5
c. Internet Options are stored in the HKEY_LOCAL_USER string of the Windows Registry
d. Internet Explorer should be configured for each profile that accesses a particular workstation
   
2. Download and install Sun Java: Download Sun Java version
 
a. Follow the on-screen instructions to install Sun Java
b. Please do not allow any toolbar program to be auto-selected and installed
   
3. Download and Install Adobe Acrobat Reader: Download Adobe Acrobat Reader
 
a. Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to print and print preview within Enterprise5
   
4. Download, "Run", and Install the required Enterprise5 Plug-ins for Internet Explorer:
 
a. Previous versions of the Enterprise5 Plug-Ins should first be uninstalled.
   - How to Uninstall Previous Versions of the Enterprise5 Plug-ins
b. Install the "Enterprise5 version 5.0 Installer for Sun Java", when prompted "Run" the file
 
- Install to the default folder location as preselected by the installer
- Two different dialog boxes will launch during install; disregard any error messages 
- Enables a workstation to play audio, provides report printing from within Enterprise5, and installs the e5 Medical Dictionary
   
5. Post Install:
 
a. When entering/accessing the first report within Enterprise5 the user will be prompted to install an update to the ActiveX spellcheck plug-in:
 
- The user should place a check in the "Always trust content from this publisher"
- Ensure UAC is disabled
- Select the "Run" button, the update will install quickly

c. The first time (only) a report is printed an ActiveX pop-up may generate to install an Adobe Acrobat Reader ActiveX plug-in. The user is required to accept and install the component in order to print. In the event the user is unable to print for the first, the pop-up may not have been viewable due to local system or local user restrictions. In this situation it will be necessary for the local workstation Administrator to login and accept the ActiveX control
